I need an air purifier to improve the air quality in my home, especially during the winter months and summer when the air conditioning is on. With the house closed winter and summer with the air conditioner on, I noticed that my family and I had all sorts of sinus problems (blocked or runny nose). I really just wanted to improve the air we breathe. I was also curious if an air purifier actually removes cooking odors from the air. I was pleasantly surprised by this air purifier. It was really easy to unpack and get started. I read the manual that came with the device, which is better written than I expected. All I had to do was remove the plastic around the filter before plugging it in and turning it on. As soon as I switched it on, I could tell that the air coming out of the device to be cleaned was clean. It's hard to explain, but the air just smells clean and fresh. After about 30 minutes of walking, I could tell that the air throughout the house was already cleaner and I could breathe easier. We have a two story house and it was on the ground floor when I first tried it. I didn't notice any difference in the air on the second floor, but I didn't expect it either. I've experimented with moving it to the second floor and I've had the same results. Much cleaner air and easier breathing throughout the second floor but no difference on the first floor, but then again I didn't expect any difference on the lower floor. I am very happy with the 5 different fan speeds. You get the 4 main speeds and 1 for sleep mode. Different speeds alone give you more leeway to adapt to the air quality or noise level. This air purifier really cleans a lot of air at maximum power. They claim it will clean 1200 square feet in 10 minutes and based on the non-scientific tests I've run I believe it does. Of course, this only works at maximum fan speed, but if it has to be done quickly, it's done in about 10 minutes. Sleep mode is great. The fan speed gets so low that when I go to bed I don't hear it at all. Sleep mode also turns off the lights to minimize distractions, which is a plus. I also really like the nice big display on the front. Easily readable from across the room without glare. The digital reading is the current real-time air quality from 1 to 500 (I believe the maximum is 500). When I was looking for an air purifier, I wanted it to have an automatic mode that would adjust the fan speed based on the current air quality. This device does it and I think it works pretty well. I have had great results in cooking. It detects poor air quality when cooking and adjusts the fan speed as needed. As it purifies the air and improves its quality, it reduces the fan speed. "Wi-Fi remote control" is another great feature. Basically it's an app that you can download to your device and control your air purifier from anywhere. It was really handy and I use it a lot more than I thought I would. It's nice to be able to quickly open the app and adjust the speed or even turn it on or off. And the app has worked well so far. It also gives you the current filter life percentage, which is handy too. I am very happy with this air purifier. This has significantly improved the air we breathe at home. This is my first air purifier and I've really thought about getting another one for both floors. It's also supposed to filter out dust, but time will tell how well it does. I haven't had this device long enough to notice a difference, but it may take some time before it's noticeable. There are just a few things I would like to change about this device. Firstly, I wish they had cutouts for your hands at the top of both sides so you can move them more easily. There is nothing like that on this device. You just have to lift it from the bottom to move it. It's not difficult, but it can be uncomfortable. Another thing I would like to change is the air intakes around the entire perimeter of the device. The device currently only sucks in air from the rear and from both sides. For me, pulling the air in all directions would give even better results. These are just items that would like to change, and their absence is by no means a deal breaker.
