5 month old LOVES chewing on the tails and crinkling the cover. Easiest way to entertain baby so I can get the dishes done. :)Weird red cloth ties appear to be for holding book closed or marking pages, but completely useless as bookmark and in the wrong place to be great for securing covers closed. (They are sewn to the top of the spine, not the center as you would expect of a closure.) Not important, little one just chews on them, too. It *would* have been nice to have a way to keep pages closed with tails tucked inside, but I only think of it because of the bookmarks (or whatever they are).Washes well. Good, because my kiddo drools and "urps” on it daily. And today peed on it during a diaper change. Oops! Only disappointment? The danged thing gets daily use, so I wish it could self-clean instead of being out of commission for washing. :)Would definitely buy again.
