Like everyone said, order half a size down I'm rating this 4 stars because I want to love them. I really want to love them, but they leave a lot to be desired. They fit like a sock with a sole, but are also worn as a unit. I'm not satisfied with 180 cones. I had a pair of Supernova Riots with fenders and I fucking loved those shoes. I wore them to the point where the soles were practically smooth. So I tried them as a backup (they don't cause supernova riot anymore) and here are my two main thoughts: 1- Comfort is usually amazing. They fit like a sock, are very light and the pillow is very comfortable. Flat and mountainous terrain is no problem. However, since there is no tongue, the laces tie pretty much straight to the top of your feet. It's fine on flat ground and downhill, as I said, but once you point your toes down you'll feel two things: 1- the upper is so stretchy that it doesn't offer any resistance/support from your feet forward. and your toes are pushed into toe box 2 - to counteract this you need to tighten those laces, but now you're basically using your laces to support all your weight by sliding forward so you really have to pull yourself up when You want to keep your toenails. 2 - They are built as a sock with a sole with a small protective element on the outside of the sock. If you're going through off-the-beaten-path terrain, I don't recommend them. Don't walk on boulders or fields with boulders, don't walk in bushes. They're probably fine for river crossings or snow hikes (they're not waterproof, so expect them to get wet), but if you do, it could end up tipping your toes into contact with sharp and abrasive objects things, it's probably not for you. Again, think of socks with soles. So for the price I paid I'll be dealing with tight laces going down the mountain. I appreciate that the ankle is snug enough to keep out gravel and the occasional stick hit. I don't think they are difficult to put on like some reviews say. it is a sock. With sole. If I had tried them on in the store first I would have chosen something else but I didn't so here it is!
