I don't understand the references to "taste" and "clarity"! We just installed a water heater and since we live where there is a lot of limescale in the water we decided to install a filter for the whole house. We had it professionally installed by a plumber and in our case at least it required a few extra copper pipes to be installed (unpainted pipes in the photo). The filter appears to last several years before needing replacement. Can't rate how well it works, but our plumber recommended this product. Sounds good!
