I didn't quite understand what to expect as I had never bought furniture from Amazon before. The glass is a little shy, about 1 inch thick, and the base and glass work together to create a classy and expensive look. Looks fantastic in our living room. One star deducted because the screw hole wasn't drilled properly and otherwise a seamless build that should have taken 10 minutes and then 20-25 while I re-drilled two layers of metal on one side to match the screw as intended to have been originally. All in all I didn't care as I'm very comfortable but if my fiancee had this delivered and I wasn't home to remedy she wouldn't be able to set up the table at all - so make sure you do drill conveniently, just in case when you order.
