I'm a hvac/refrigeration mechanic for multiple Kroger stores in my area, so that environment involves anywhere from being in freezers to being on the roof in the heat, as well as working with solvents and oils, and working with my hands in tight places where things can snag or catch. I can say that at least for the last 5 months this watch band has proven to be very durable and looks to last another 5 months or more. Other people have noted how the hole becomes frayed where the metal catch piece inserts and the same happened to mine also, but since the insides of the holes are melted beforehand, it only frays to an extent. Mine hasn't gotten any worse and still works fine. I did have to make a minor modification just for personal comfort by clamping one of the metal band loops so that it holds the band more securely. I've gotten mine wet a bunch and gotten oil on it so it kinda looks dirty but I don't mind that, I wanted something functional, rugged looking, and cheap and this has worked out pretty good so far.
