I have worked in HVAC for 30 years and I am a strong believer in starting capacitors. I replace it on my condenser every two or three years to avoid problems. They don't last forever. I do the same with a double run capacitor. Avoids the problem for less than thirty dollars. Turn off the power first. Only one fatal error is allowed!
