Review on Cosy Winter Coat for Greyhounds: Warm Fleece Jumper with Adjustable Bands for Medium to Large dogs by Latasha Hayes

Good coat but 2 major flaws

I read the reviews before ordering this. Was concerned that the velcro is long enough. I have a large greyhound male, I adopted him this spring and never thought that the large winter coat I already had would be too small. In the frosty weather I badly needed a thick coat. All made to measure coats would take too long and all ready made coats would be too small. This was my only XXXL option for a large enough and quick delivery. Arrived in a few days and luckily it fits. It's tight, but not tight. The velcro is short and there is no point in doing it that way. It's long enough to hold securely, about two inches overlapping. In short, it wouldn't work. Also, for a boy, the strap is barely in front of his boy parts so he could piss on it if it wasn't really tight. I love the reflective piping, it's soft and thick enough to keep the cold and wind out. The collar is long enough to warm up to the ears. With that I have the biggest problem: a hole to attach a leash. The hole is at the bottom of the collar, too low to attach to a martingale. It is too high to be attached to the top of the trailer. I think I can make the leash work with a harness but definitely not with a collar. It seems that the designer of this coat didn't think of greyhounds or that the leash should go through the collar. Two holes would be useful: one at the top for the collar, one at the bottom of the shoulders for the seat belt. It may not work with seat belts and I will be returning it. Too bad the seller didn't make this greyhound coat for greyhound work. That's a good coat.

Pros
  • 1. Quality fleece sweater for Greyhounds such as Greyhounds, Lurchers, Whippets, Salukis and other similar crossbreeds.
Cons
  • Not the best
