Different design for mashed potatoes
I've been using the standard zig zag potato masher for many years, so I had some doubts about this design with lots of small holes. But it worked well with regular potatoes, and the horizontal grip gave me extra strength when I squeezed. The holes also mash potatoes more thoroughly than the old design, and the sturdy construction should last for years.
