I've read a lot of reviews about this recommended size. Here's the thing, I think it's hard to rely on size ratings or people's interpretation of "true to size". It doesn't really exist. We all have a different figure, including our children. My son is 6 years old and now wears a size 6/7 S and I originally ordered him a size 8-9 based on the reviews but he was too big. Shoulders. We came back and made a size 6-7 and it fits perfectly. As for the glitter, yes, it sparkles/shimmers. This is not a flat color. If you don't give it much importance, it won't matter much. We don't follow those rules in my house, so shiny clothes suit him. Is it dazzling brilliance? no I would say it's quite reflective and shimmery. My son loves it and no one batted an eye at his acrobatics studio because that's what swimsuits look like.
