Works. Longer than most and sticks out more, which can be an issue in some cases, but it works in deeper than standard sockets where shorter ones won't do. I'm not sure there's any point in switching the display between battery voltage and charging current, but it's far enough out of line of sight to not be a distraction (and you can't effortlessly see the display when things are plugged in anyway).
