I work with children on the autism spectrum. Most of them enjoyed them intermittently for short periods, but they weren't particularly popular with any of the customers I saw. I will say that if you can get your child's hands on them before they get too nervous, they can be helpful when the wait is inevitable. However, there is a short-term interest in them. They are exactly as described although they require the strength of an adult or older child to disassemble. Conversely, I've found that they help me be more personally attentive when watching a show or doing something that I tend to multitask on. I have met other adults like her in my life.
