They didn't fit my ceiling fan so like others said in their reviews I had to change the setting. Remove the two screws at the end of these wire guards. This end can then be opened up to fit onto the round metal part of the base into which the bulb will screw. Open it up and place it on this base, fold the base back to its original position, and then screw one of the screws back into the protective cover. We then screwed on a vintage Feit Edison style 40W flashlight and flipped the front of the wire guard back to its original position, it is adjustable. Presto, we now have a remodeled vintage backlit farm. No one can say these wire fences didn't come with our fan. Not even us!
