Revised again. add another star. After 17 months of use, this device proved to be just as reliable as the old SS-700 model. It just has different properties. I took a risk and bought another one. Be careful not to overfill your cup. Pros: This one works. Cons: The power cord is about 11 inches shorter than the older SS-700's cord. The pump is noisy and vibrates. It squirts liquid everywhere. The piercing needle is blunt, almost blunt, which sometimes breaks the foil on the top of the pod. It consistently dispenses more liquid than is requested on the display. Certified! The thing didn't work out of the box. Error EE0 is displayed after pressing the brew button. When the brew button is pressed twice, the pump works but no water comes out. I tried 15-20 times and thought that after filling the pump starts to work, but not a single drop of water came out. So back to my 7 year old refurbished Cuisinart SS-700.
