Broken Carving. Where is the quality control?

I'm almost done with the door. I was almost thrilled that I was able to install it in 5 minutes. Now it takes a few days to send it back and get a new pen. As you can see in the picture, whoever or whatever threaded the bottom screw made it crooked. The screw goes no further than shown in the picture while the other goes in well (as it should). Because of this, I can't properly attach it to my door! How bad is whipping? Do you have quality control? If I return the product now if I don't get good customer service and a replacement, this will be the last time I buy from this company. sad and disappointed.
