This doll is not real. As it says on the box, there was no battery included. You can tell the doll is not real because of its features, material and interactive polka dots, it was sooooo hard to work with! The picture below shows the real doll on the right and the fake doll.

I gave JJ to my daughter as an early Christmas present. The peas were difficult for my 4 year old. You have to push them at the right angle to make them retract back into the spoon. JJ comes without batteries. It needs two AAA batteries. I put in some used batteries and it made a horrible bouncing noise. At first I thought we had received a broken one that we would have to send back, but it turned out to be just batteries. After putting in new batteries as you can see in the video it works…

She comes well packaged but it is not a display case so there is no window inside to see the product. Inside is a very cute doll, a bowl of peas and a spoon. I put the batteries in and the doll works as it should. A little learning curve on a pea and a spoon but it works properly. The doll's clothes are beautiful and my granddaughter will be able to take them off easily. . . and for me to wear again and again. This doll is fake. My 2 year old daughter is obsessed with JJ and was so excited when she saw the doll. If you open a box that doesn't look like the real box it's supposed to be in, the doll just doesn't look real. The batteries came with the bot and after using our own batteries it ran for maybe 10 minutes and never worked again and also feeding JJ's peas is so difficult that no two year old can do it alone. This is pure junk and Revain should be ashamed for allowing vendors to sell fake crap.

I don't usually write reviews but after reading all the previous reviews and getting worried I thought I should. is it real I don't know, I think! If not, then it's a very good fake, all I can say. Sound quality is great, all parts were there, everything works fine so far (just put batteries in to try it out for a few minutes), so thumbs up for me. Feeding peas requires some effort, as usual with dolls that have them right inside, the mechanics really do require you to perform some real feeding
