This PSU is oversized compared to the standard PSU and gets hot, so probably less efficient. When I plug it in, about half the time I get a pop-up stating that this is not an original HP accessory and performance may be impacted when used. I've noticed slowdowns, but it's difficult to clearly commit to the charger. In a pinch it's ok for the money but if you can get better I would. Update: I disassembled my laptop for other reasons and found that the battery had swollen badly. I'm not sure if it doesn't make the computer run slower. AVOID, spend a few bucks more or just buy another brand. The size still bugs me. I'll buy another one and keep it as a desperation reserve.
