My baby was born 3 weeks early. The hospital gave us a fleece sleeping bag/diaper. I wish I had known before I showered that they come in different weights! My child was too hot in fleece clothes. You are indispensable! The newborn size fits 3 weeks early but my baby is very long. So I had to switch to small for the first month. It doesn't meet the weight recommendation, but it fits the length. There's extra room in the shoulders, but he survives. My biggest complaint is that even when swaddled, he manages to pull his arms out from underneath which causes part of the velcro diaper to pinch around his neck and shoulders. It only became a problem when he got a little older. So I just sewed it up to prevent it! Examine the temperature you maintain in your home and see which weight works best, or bring it up to all weights! You will not regret it!
