We used four 150 watt J Type T3 halogen bulbs in our family room. So we used 600 watts per hour per hour to get 600 watts of light and I just decided to keep my electric bills down. I replaced the original bulbs with 78mm LEDs but I was only using 40 watts per hour and getting less than 240 watts of equivalent light. This significantly reduced my hourly energy bills even though I was getting less than half the light! However it was too dark in the family room so I now replaced the 78mm LED bulbs with these and reverted to these old style 150w halogen 78mm bulbs as it was too dark and so were we all needed more light in the room. Family room area. Also, I've now stopped using other light sources to compensate for the "light loss" with the new 78mm LED bulbs!
