I recently bought a new O'scope. That's why I chose Siglent. Differing perceptions of quality made this decision difficult. But in fact, the device turned out to be better than expected, and next to the old Rigol with similar characteristics, it was easier to use and seemed to have all the features I needed. So I decided to add a new DMM and chose a different Siglent. Based on the oscilloscope I figured it would be the safest choice and did less research. Arrived on time, looking good on the bench. Turned it on, pressed the power button, and the Siglent logo appeared just like the O'scope. But as a lazy relative or a stray cat, the logo has not gone away. He just stared at me until the screen saver came on, leaving me looking at the black screen instead of the logo. Research quickly showed that others had this problem. It was impossible to update the firmware - it wasn't possible to get to the screen to do so. Not wanting to return the new device to Siglent as requested, I sent it back to Revain. Maybe it's a good machine, but there seems to be a known issue with boot failures. My old GW/Instek will have to wait a bit longer before I decide what I really want. With Siglent 50/50 good/bad I'll be careful going in that direction.
