I bought this for my 2007 Cadillac Escalade because my power tailgate stopped working. At first it was noisy like opening but no. Then it stopped and wouldn't open. Another sign that let me know I needed to replace this actuator was my rear wiper which also stopped working. There is a small circle on the inner panel of the tailgate approximately in the middle and at the bottom. Drill through the entire lid and use something like a nail to push the manual latch to open the tailgate for repairs. The total time was about 20 minutes.
