My Harley buddy had a compartment that he could slot and store his iPhone in while riding. This rectangular short cable was the perfect solution for this application/problem where a normal cable would have to bend a lot after the connector. As we all know, bending an iPhone cable too often means you'll soon be buying another cable (even if it's a reinforced braided nylon).
