So far, it is great. It was easy to install on a fencepost outside. It works over 300ft away, through a wall. It has a couple of simple chimes, and then a whole selection of goofy music, including Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer. I recommend this product. I will update this if anything changes, but I don't think it will. It seems sturdy and works well.The base unit plugs into the wall. It's bigger, so it will have to go into the bottom plug in an outlet. It has a ground prong.Another reviewer said the bell wasn't loud. That isn't true; it has volume settings. One of the buttons on the side of the base sets the volume - you can set it to be extremely loud, loud, or what I would call a conversational volume.The other button lets you select the music or chime.The doorbell button, which you can attach to a wall or post with screws (two screws and two plastic anchors included), is slightly bulky, but sleek. When you press the button, the ring lights up and makes the base chime.I'll be buying another for the gate on the other side of my property soon.If you have questions, feel free to ask!Update 1: received good feedback from the seller that being exposed outside may not be ideal; I will build a weather shield around it to give it some protection from the weather, and maybe do a little weather sealing myself! Thanks to the seller for the info. This bell would be perfect if it came weatherproofed.Update 2: I put the button in an all-weather electrical box with a clear cover on my outdoor fence post. We've had a couple of rains and the button still works great.
