I ordered this item in October 2013 as a Christmas present. I turned the radio on once to test the sound, static like all radios before turning it on, but I didn't test the speaker quality with a CD or cassette. The speakers were bad, static all the time. Sounds like an ancient system. I have friends who have similar things and they work well. I cannot return or replace the product because the return period has expired. Now I'm stuck with a broken product until I find someone who can replace or fix the sound system. I am also disappointed because I bought an additional guarantee, Squaretrade's electronic protection, which does not cover the product since it arrived damaged. Therefore, I am warned in advance to carefully examine any electronic product I buy in a store or on the Internet.
