Overall this is a good carrier. I have an advice to give. The plastic is a bit thinner than previous compass holders, but ok. You need to make sure you align the top and bottom properly. There is a small folding latch on the back that lets you know everything is aligned once. If this latch does not close properly. It's not aligned. After aligning, insert 4 steel screws. It's very safe. Unless you are transporting an animal that is too big to carry. Even then, I don't see it falling apart when assembled properly, but it will likely "feel" flimsy. If you actually put 4 steel bolts in and tightened the bolts properly again. Nothing will fall apart. I like the gate, I like the color and the grip. Please check the carrier before placing your pet, picking it up and going outside. Another piece of advice. After rubbing the cardboard, place some cardboard on the bottom to give the animal a better grip, and then cover the top of the cardboard with a blanket or hay. I wish the compass was made out of thicker plastic than their earlier holders. This will boost transport companies' sales and give pet owners more peace of mind. Made in the USA which is a big plus.
