I bought these as part of an emergency kit. The funny thing is I have to reorder them now! We went camping a week ago and I thought I could hack it. People saw them, and next thing you know, everyone had them. Now tonight for Halloween I have given them to my son and his friends to be safe. A few words about the product: they are very bright. They are much brighter than anything I have used before. They impair night vision but can be seen from a very long distance. They stayed in the camp for at least 8 hours. The package includes a relatively cheap rubberized thread that can be threaded through the hole and used to attach it to a person or object. I see cord as something that quickly rots in the heat of a car. There is also a hook at the end that you can use if needed, e.g. for hanging on a clothesline, nailing a necklace, etc. I will definitely be buying these again to replace what I was using.
