I hope I don't have to use them

These blankets are very well packed and light weight. I don't know if they are effective or not and I hope I never have to find out!

Pros
  • Hands free
Cons
  • Everything is fine

So many things in such a small package

I have something like this in the emergency box in every car: towels, spare gloves, kitty litter, flashlights and these warm blankets. I have used them several times and they are fast, easy to use and lightweight. We had several weeks of extreme cold last year and I had a brilliant flash: I put a couple of these over the largest doors to act as a thermal barrier against the blistering cold. Went like clockwork.

Good for space travel! And protect things.

I have a collection of vinyl records that are sensitive to heat, light and air, but they are so bulky that I have to keep them in an outside shed. I needed to protect them from the weather so I bought them to line the boxes and it worked great! The temperature was over 100 degrees this summer but when I opened the boxes to get a feel for the temperature they were cool and protected. Therefore, in addition to emergency use, they are excellent for a lightweight method of protecting storedโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Ugly packaging

A little too thin for my use.

I bought 5 packs of these Mylar blankets about 2 weeks ago to line the inside of a bedroom closet that will be repurposed for indoor winter growing of fruit and veg. The blankets themselves are more like thin sheets of plastic, like regular Mylar if you're unfamiliar with them. For my purposes, these blades didn't have much play, which was a bit of a shame, but that probably wouldn't matter if used as advertised in a pinch. With good old duct tape it did the job as far as I know, and at a great

Pros
  • High marks for hold and durability from testers
Cons
  • Some cons

I ordered 5 sets to check quality and size before placing a larger order of 80 sets. The first 5 arrived and I was happy with the size and quantity and decided to place a larger order. I received two separate batches of these, a box of 16 like the first 5 I received and another box of the remaining 64 which were completely different things. They were a few inches smaller at the top and sides and had different packaging. I weighed two different species and the smaller ones weigh 20% less thanโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Excellent overall performance
Cons
  • Minor issues

Ideal for a small survival kit or winter car kit.

These Mylar blankets are good in many ways, but they also have a few drawbacks. Please note that these defects are due to the nature of the product and in no way to poor product quality. The advantages are that it's a very small and simple way to keep warm and protected in an emergency. The downsides are that because it's so thin, it doesn't have enough strength for repeated use. If you are very careful you can use it several times, but it will most likely crack and if it does it will beโ€ฆ
