I bought this aerator when my previous unit died. I had a device that got stuck in a bottleneck. It worked fine, but the rubber gasket holding it in place eventually failed and it failed. I first used this type of aerator at a dinner party at a friend's house. I liked it because we didn't have to plug and unplug the neck of the wine bottle when it was time to pour like the old bottle I used. It seemed to do a great job opening wine so I bought it for myself. Another thing I really like is that it's a lot easier to clean than the old one. I am very satisfied and can only recommend this aerator.
