My daughter needed a rain jacket for a hike. When I saw the jacket in person I had my doubts about its "water resistance" but the consultant tested it for water resistance and was surprised that it was actually waterproof. It's not a heavy jacket, more of a windbreaker, but she wore it over a heavier jacket and it worked well. She is petite (60lbs, 4'5"), 12 years old and I bought a size 150. Looks good, comfortable (soft lining). Worked well for her.
