About a year and a half have passed since we bought these steps. They are used every day. A few months ago they started to give way when our dog used them. The foam has become softer and more pliable over time. At the moment they are left to decay as they fall apart underneath. Given the cost, I don't mind replacing them after a year and a half. So far they have worked well for her. I tried wood and plastic options, she didn't like either. So I will order these again.
