Great speakers! in speaker

These speakers sound great! The mids aren't exceptional, but they're there. The highs are typically Klipsch, almost too much, but deliver a very clear sound for the average listener. The highs aren't sharp either, as with some Klipsch models, but rather very noticeable. The bass response is amazing for a 4" woofer. There are plenty of them, and they are not cloudy. On a fairly small table in a small room, a subwoofer is not needed, although for very low frequencies or boomy home theater bass it is definitely needed. systems and they would be a good addition either way. I have them on my desk and I think this is the perfect app for them. As 4" speakers they're not exactly suited to a large room or the middle of a theatre .system although they could be good satellites for a surround sound system. They work great at low volume and come in a fairly compact box suitable for a desk.Speaking of box it's definitely adequate but not by of the highest quality. It has a nice feel but the grain of the wood looks like veneer. The front end looks great without the cover showing the all-round current gunmetal Klipsch driver and the large tweeter waveguide. The magnetic covers are nice too, and when in place the speakers look unobtrusively dimmed. The wire mounts offer a nice firm hold and the bass port is quite large. They can even be wall mounted, although placing rear port speakers directly against a wall is not recommended. The package includes four adhesive feet for each speaker, which can be added if desired. I abandoned them and placed the speakers directly on the foam of my stands. These speakers love power. I can boost my Yamaha receiver by up to 70% with 100W RMS per channel without blowing up the woofers or eardrums. I tried them with a Lepai 2020A amp (20 watts RMS) and it had to be maxed out to get decent volume and it introduced some distortion. Unfortunately, unless you just listen very softly, a $20 amp won't cut it for you. Overall I'm very happy with it as an addition to my table. I highly recommend it for beginners or cheap audiophiles like me.
