My makeup brushes are not cleaned as often as they should because it is a labor intensive process. I've been seeing these cleaners for a while, broke down and ended up on Prime Day. It came very quickly and I already had triple AAA batteries as the reviews said those batteries were needed. My foundation brush is horrible and the hardest to clean. I followed the directions and applied some of my Eco Tools (BEST) brush shampoo, filled to the waterline and popped. I KNOW how dirty the water must have been and it didn't make much of a difference. However, it dissolved all of the product that was in my brush. I made more shampoo and less water. Another dirty brush. I then applied pure micellar water and tilted the brush/bowl to the side to pick up the micellar water. The brush is still dirty. THEN I just applied Eco Tools Shampoo directly to the brush and rinsed it off with my fingers. It worked and I finally got somewhere as the product softened and started to wash out. Last time I added some more shampoo and water, dried it and the result is a super clean AND dry brush. To be honest what I like the most is how it dries the brushes. My powder brush was a little wobbly but cleaned and dried very well, as were my other small brushes. Despite trial and error, I'm glad I got this and can clean my brushes without waiting for them to dry!
