Universal bit with interchangeable bearings comes with two different washers. One for use with 5/16" and 3/8" bearings and one for use with 7/16" and 1/2" bearings. You must be careful not to use the wrong washer or the locking screw will not fit properly. Also, that's probably common sense for most carpenters (I'll admit my brain farted). The larger the camp, the smaller the cut. So if you want to make a 3/8 inch tongue you will need the second largest bearing. It's a bit counterintuitive if you don't know what you're doing. In any case, the thing cuts great. The beat is very sharp. For me it's worth spending a little more on Freud. Every piece of Freud I've ever bought made great cuts. I recommend!
