Review on πŸ’§ Sebamed Extreme Dry Skin Relief Face Cream: 5% Urea Formula for 1.7 fl oz (50mL) by Yvonne Gallegos

Soothes and "extremely oily skin "!

I have had sensitive, oily and acne prone skin since I was 9 years old. I am also Scandinavian pale so any blemish or irritation will show up brightly and remain visible for a very long time even after it has healed. Having been involved in skincare for the past 10 years (I'm 28 now) I felt like I was doing a pretty good job with skin; It was still uncomfortable, but not a disaster like it used to be when I didn't know about the chemistry behind skincare. I chose this for the urea content because winter has made my skin overly reactive to the usual acids I use to exfoliate and I have very "active" skin that tends to hold on rather than deal with large, huge pores (genetically) correct to shed. It can be oily, flaky, and grainy at the same time, even when I use very mild PH-balanced cleansers and wear moisturizers on top. The effectiveness of this simple formula is top notch. Moisture actually penetrates my skin instead of staying on it and I've been able to exclude other active ingredients without suffering from clogged pores or pimples. My skin barrier feels much better and tighter, and while I'm still producing a lot of oil, it's at a manageable level. It's matte enough that it doesn't interfere with makeup application and I'd place the texture somewhere between a light cream and gel. It's definitely not fat or sweet. The smell is slightly powdery, but in my opinion completely harmless. I like it better than Hada Labo Plumping Cream and Premium Lotion which were some of my previous products. I have fine hair and an oily scalp so I want to try the urea shampoo from this line and see if it works better than my dandruff shampoo!
