Buy It Now. I broke off FOUR keys. This is a find.

Four broken Honda keys. FOUR. They will charge you between $100 and $150 for it. I passionately hate those keys and you can't start your car until the chip in this electronic opener touches the key when you turn the ignition on. Believe me, I've had enough of this so the car won't start if those two parts are even a millimeter apart. This protection is a godsend and you must buy it. Keys without them are flimsy and there is a very strong rubber coating around them to hold your key securely. My last key came in three separate pieces (the key broke out of the plastic and broke the electronic piece) and I taped it all together and carefully stuffed it into this thing. The sacred cow is so cozy and safe. This rubber is great at holding everything in place, but I'm a little compulsive and supertaped the edge of the rubber for extra security. It is necessary? no Am I tired of four broken keys? Yes. very yes Proactively, if you're buying a Honda with a key like this, buy it now and save yourself some heartache. If it's broken and you can salvage your key and the inside and everything works, try gluing them together instead of buying uncut keyless options. You have to go to the dealer to have the key cut properly and sometimes they flatly refuse to do it unless you buy their key there.

Pros
  • High quality silicone rubber protective cover for existing remote or keyless entry
Cons
  • Requires power socket
