Review on Bush Furniture Kathy Ireland Home Connecticut Lateral File Cabinet in Black Suede Oak Finish by Lisa Campbell

Revainrating 3 out of 5

Awkward, pending decision

It is attractive, looks the same as the picture. Assembly took 6 hours. I am very familiar with assembling furniture and have successfully completed many projects in the past. It took a long time, a lot of cussing, my hands hurt, I have a few scratches and cuts from trying to get into the box and manipulating the pieces to put it back together. This is by far the chunkiest piece of furniture I've ever tried to put together. It's not impossible, but take your time, be careful, and give yourself lots of attention and patience. The top is not connected to the base. The design assumes that the fasteners will lock, but this is not the case. This isn't a problem, but you will need wood glue or other mortar to attach the top. I haven't used it yet so I don't really know how durable it is. It's chipboard, but it's heavier, so I'm optimistic.

Pros
  • Home office cabinets
Cons
  • Almost everything is fine
