This thing has come to my rescue. I had a Lenovo Y700 with a Samsung PM951 PCIe NVMe 256GB drive that suddenly turned off without warning and never turned on again. I had backups of all my data, but I had confidential information that I didn't want to send to anyone. knows who is at the Lenovo Repair Center. I had no other way to access the hard drive, so I ordered this card. I found an unused Dell desktop in the office that nobody was using, plugged this card into the graphics card expansion slot and immediately saw the drive without having to install a driver. I erased my drive and put it back in the laptop to send to Lenovo for my new motherboard (presumably). I didn't need to use it so I didn't try it, but the computer suggested booting from the SSD I had installed on this card since it saw the boot partition on my SSD card (I don't need that , but I thought I'd mention it in case it will be useful to someone else).
