M.2 SSDs need a heatsink even on desktops/workstations with good airflow.

I purchased this item because I figured I didn't need a card with a heatsink or fan as my HP Z420 Workstation has a lot of airflow through the case. I was wrong! I connected this adapter to an Intel 660 2TB m.2 NVME and within an hour my SSD was overheating and shutting down thanks to Intel Thermal Protection while copying over 460GB of files from my gaming hard drive. Thanks to Intel for saving me from this error. I removed the case cover and ran the box fan straight into the case at high…

Pros
  • The Mailiya M.2 PCIe adapter allows you to connect an NVMe SSD hard drive to your desktop PC, greatly increasing read/write speeds and performance.
Cons
  • Faulty

This thing has come to my rescue. I had a Lenovo Y700 with a Samsung PM951 PCIe NVMe 256GB drive that suddenly turned off without warning and never turned on again. I had backups of all my data, but I had confidential information that I didn't want to send to anyone. knows who is at the Lenovo Repair Center. I had no other way to access the hard drive, so I ordered this card. I found an unused Dell desktop in the office that nobody was using, plugged this card into the graphics card expansion…

Pros
  • Includes both low profile and full profile slot mounts for flexible system case installation and fits in a mini computer case. No driver installation required.
Cons
  • Not bad

Good I/O Port Cards

I originally bought this two years ago because my Samsung 960 Pro wasn't up to speed and I wanted to see if I could improve its performance over my previous motherboard's m.2 socket 3 slot . The CrystalDiskMark tests I ran showed that each test measured performance to within 100MB/s of the initial performance of the m.2 slot. I also tested it on a newer x570 motherboard to confirm the same results. Ultimately, switching to an x16 adapter gave me the results I was looking for. Keep in mind that…

Pros
  • This adapter is ONLY for M.2 PCIe SSDs with "M" key like Samsung 980 Pro, 970EVO, Crucial P2, WD Blue SN550, Kingston A400, Corsair MP400, M.2 SSD and etc. . Not compatible with M.2 PCIe x2 SSD "B" Key or M.2 SATA SSD "B" Key.
Cons
  • No performance

Wonderful! with old Z87 mainboard

Okay, I have an old Asrock Z87 Extreme 6/ac motherboard (with 4th Gen CPU) with a regular SSD. My friend gave me a Samsung 970 PRO NVMe in a USB case. I couldn't access NVMe at all, I got a hardware error message, I thought the chassis or NVMe was faulty. Then I saw this little $15 adapter so I gave it a try but wasn't too keen on it because I didn't think it would work. Before getting the adapter I updated the BIOS (it was a BETA but I took a chance). As soon as I got the adapter and installed
