They are actually a bit tall. I wear a 13 in Vans and a 12 with these Marc Joseph Hanna gray suede leather shoes is just right, maybe a quarter size up but snug enough not to move on my foot. The width is medium, so a bit too narrow for my trail (2E), but not that uncomfortable for medium distances. The leather construction means there is a lack of breathability, which some (read: me -> don't) consider very much, so the slim fit is even more apparent. In general I am satisfied with the purchase. The construction is solid and the delivery time was spot on. Especially at the retail price of $29 or $30 that I bought at the time. Oh, and one last thing, the tread is grippy when everyone gets off, but the wave pattern strikes me as something that could wear out prematurely while walking rather than idling. Driving, sailing, everything else less active - done.
