Chaco 👣 Z2 Classic Stepped Sandal Review

These shoes are good but require constant adjustment of the straps as they tend to tighten when you wear them during the day. The heel counter, I guess you can call it that, tends to be a bit tight for my taste, especially if you plan on wearing sandals for any distance. This is my second pair in the same style and the insole is softer than what I bought initially which is welcome but at least the strap is a bigger issue for me.

I have quite wide feet for a woman, so I buy men's shoes for walking and hiking. These sandals were perfect! They took very little time to break in and I will definitely be buying another pair.

Tried the sock strap, wasn't a fan. This makes them harder to put on. I've also found that sockless shoes fit me just as well as normal shoes. I see no need for this.

Attractive advertising, good arch and heel support made these sandals an expensive fashion item for young suburbanites who prefer outdoor activities. But the stiff outsole and one-piece lacing from arch to toe means the laces slowly tighten and pinch your toes as you walk. The wearer should stop and adjust the laces about every 15 minutes for relief. A really bad investment!

I ended up having to buy another pair. My first ones lasted about 15 years before they started to wear out. I wore them constantly from early spring to late fall. I hope this couple holds up too.

Save money and buy normal sandboxes. In the name of arch support, don't make the mistake of buying those expensive sandals. The tape is super hard and gave me blisters. It's sticky and itchy on the sides. The sole is larger than your usual size. The bow is good, but too much. I wouldn't be surprised if my straps fell off after a few months.

I have a size 9.5 men's shoe and I downsized it to a size 9 as per the reviews recommended. I found the sandals really pinched the outer edges of my feet. I returned them for size 9W. 9W is much better; the straps are a bit long.

I bought these shoes for my kayak guide friend. He's been in the water all day and has never had a chaco. These are my favorite summer shoes for hikes, rivers, mountains. They remain very stable and secure on the foot. I can climb or swim in these shoes. My friend was happy to receive them. I recommend it to everyone, they have a very comfortable high arc.

I wore these sandals in the summer when I was a missionary. Very nice and fashionable sandals. A little uncomfortable at first, but you slow it down a bit.

If you're convinced that comfortable shoes should be as soft as a pillow, you're going to hate them. But if you wear them all day, your feet will love you. I've had Chaco Z2 since 2004, wear them until they fall apart and buy another pair. These are my #3 pair and they still fit great, quality seems to be on par with previous pairs and I like the new Chaco soles almost as much as the original Vibram soles.
