Review on Mens Genuine Sheepskin Leather Duffle Trench Coat With Warm Shearling Lining From Brandslock by Dylan Baldwin

Wow, Just Wow good for me

II'm a leather guy. Been a hobbyist leather craftsman since the early 1990s. This coat is made from good quality sheepskin (hair on leather). Not the best but very, very, very good quality.A little explanation. Leather has two sides, the hair side and the flesh side. The hair side is smooth and what most of us think of as what leather looks and feels like. This is called top grain. This is of course after the hair has been removed. The flesh side is basically suede. With that said. The leather this and similar coats are made of still have the hair on it. So the top grain is hidden under the hair/fur. The suede/flesh side is on the outside of the coat. Tanneries have ways to make the suede side look, feel and act like top grain. The higher the quality of the finish the more expensive the sheepskin. Cheap finishes look and feels like cheap pleather. The coat I got looks and feels like good quality top grain leather on the outside and inside is a pleasant kind of fuzzy. I got mine a little big so that I can layer under it as needed. My only complaints are minor and easy for me to fix. I would like a lapel button to close the top of the coat for the few really cold days we get. I got some really nice heavy duty antique finish brass snaps. Gonna add one on the top corner of the lapel. I think it will look nice and add functionality. The other thing is. The sleeves are rather long, So I assume they are intended to be rolled up making a cuff. Like in the pictures. Unfortunately when I roll the sleeves up it covers the straps and buckles. There aren't enough holes in the straps to make them useful so they must be aesthetic in nature. I can add a few more holes. In which case then the straps could be used to close off the sleeve openings from weather. But I do like the way they look. It's one of the reasons I bought this coat. So I might end up moving them up a few inches. So that they will be visible along with the rolled up cuffs. My last complaint is the pockets are rather small and kind of shallow. My hands fit, but not much else.I am very happy with this coat it is very well made and made out of good quality skeepskin. I was expecting a decent mid range coat. This coat is more akin to the low side of high end. Yea, I was expecting a solid B and it's an A-.
