First of all, the product description that it is wrought iron is misleading. The handrail tube looks like galvanized steel with black paint on top and doesn't even look like wrought iron. The brackets appear to be forged, but I still have my doubts given the silver internal threads that rust easily. As you can see from my photos the pole had chipped paint on the pole and the carvings were unpainted. Using a pad of Scotch Brite on the backing, I lightly rubbed off the black paint. But after priming with a dark gray automotive primer and then painting with Rust-Oleum Oil Rubbed Bronze spray paint, the rails looked great and were protected from the elements where I chose to paint them. put them on my deck.
