After decades of excellent service, my Sunbeam Mixmaster has announced its retirement. I'm not a big fan of "new for new's sake" and regret the systematic obsolescence of our modern products. Also, call me cheap, but I see no point in spending more than $400 on a blender. Serious? So when I searched, this option suited my needs best. I love the vintage look (reminds me of a milkshake machine - don't ask me why), I love the depth and capacity of the mixing bowl. I like how the bowl attaches to the base. I'm learning how to hear the sound of a motor, how to add ingredients while blending, and the best way to scrape the bottom of a bowl before I think I'm done. I really had to redesign my workspace because this faucet was bigger than my old ones and wouldn't fit under my cabinets (I'm the ass who didn't consider that possibility). But I love my customizations and I love how the faucet looks in my kitchen. If this lasts for decades, I'll be completely satisfied!
