I like hiking but I hate sleeping on hard ground with rocks on my back. I've tried different mattresses and pillows but they just lose their edge a little and you roll off them half the time in the middle of the night. I was going to spend a week at Boy Scout camp with my son and I wasn't going to spend it on the floor every night. I first looked for regular cribs that can be used with just a mat and sleeping bag and then I came across this great addition to my camping gear. It's not the actual size of a regular queen mattress, but it's not far off. With the included battery-powered pump, you can inflate it in one go in minutes. The pump can also be used to pump out all the air at the end of a ride. I was a little hesitant to sleep on the frame of this thing because it doesn't look very solid. But I have no problem keeping my 250 pounds and son within a week. I wouldn't jump on it or anything, but it seemed solid and had no issues. The only downside to the mattress was that it loses air with use, but I've never encountered such things. Don't let air out. Every night before bed I just added a pump for a few minutes and everything was fine. It's certainly not as comfortable as a regular bed, but it was the best camping experience I've ever had. I didn't wake up with a sick body and with the sheets and blankets we added it was almost like home.
