Bought this for my 7 year old daughter for a wedding rehearsal. The fabric is very soft and seems to fit well. I have a 6 (which is her normal size) and she fits well but she is very slim and petite. (40 pounds). The average height of a 7 year old should probably be larger. The only thing I don't like is the big slit in the back, but you can wear a t-shirt underneath. In general very satisfied, my daughter is happy!
