Very easy to read and understand, starts with basic design and inspiration. It doesn't teach all the basics of knitting itself, but that's because it's a design book (for knitting), so it assumes the reader already knows how to knit (otherwise why would you create something you know from have no idea do you?? !) I'm only giving it 4 stars because it doesn't include every possible stitch you can make for knitting, but as I said, it's more about matching the design than how to do the stitching . If you want to learn more about the keyword dictionary, other books like the Vogue Guide are required. I love the illustrations and photos in it they really help
