Review Updated - Poor Quality

I ordered this finished Revain. I have already bought 3M hook pads. I ordered Perfect-It Ultrafine for the first time. When I received them I thought they were fake 3M pads due to the poor quality. I just can't believe these are 3M products when I compare them to my other 3M pads and sticky pads, but they are and 3M has confirmed it. Cons: The pad is uneven - one side is thicker than the other. The pad backing is different from other 3M hook pads I own. The velcro is damaged and barely adheres to the 3M plate. The pad is very soft and doesn't hold its shape - my other 3M pads are firm and hold their shape. The backing of this pillow is very thin and flexes very easily. Other 3M polishing pads I own have a hard backing. Summary: I bought other 3M polishing pads - black and orange. In defense of 3M, these other pads are great for compounding, buffing, and smoothing repairs. The Perfect-It pad was nowhere near inferior to other pads I've purchased. I don't really need an ultrafine pad and after working with it I can say that the 3M orange and black hook pad works better. If you've never bought or used 3M hook spacers, you'll probably be happy with these -- no worse than other cheaper brands, but I wouldn't say better. If you are used to the 3M quality of some of their other polishing pads, you will likely be dissatisfied with this product. This is the first Perfect-it Pad I've bought and it will be my last. This product should be somewhere in the $2-$3 range as it is the same quality as no name or other branded polishing pads.
