The frame is the compressed sawdust material within a flimsy composite surface material. Made in China. This is, for lack of a better term, junk. The furnished mounting 'hardware' is bendable pot metal that pulled away from the frame perimeter. The 'extra hardware' supplied with this product contained two other mounting loops w screws that installed into the frame area - - and which promptly tore out before the framed item made it to the wall. I had to utilize an Ikea picture mounting kit (Rugga is the name) to attach eyelets & picture wire that I furnished. No wonder this is plexiglas cover not glass - - I have zero confidence that this frame will stay on the wall & 100% confidence that this frame will collapse to the floor. Not recommended & definitely not worth the $53.00 that I paid.
