GOT IT! in luggage and luggage

We bought them to go to the land of thieves, also known as Italy. We felt safe knowing that the lock had to be locked in order for TSA to pull out their key. There is a red indicator on top of the lock that shows if the lock has been opened with a TSA key. The red tab can only be reset after the lock has been opened with an access code. We felt safe with these locks and had no problems with them. TSA didn't open our luggage at all which was a nice plus. But it has helped us feel more…

TSA Approved Baggage Locks

We're planning a trip and found out that TSA regulations allow you to cut your lock on checked bags if you need to get inside. Although we don't travel much, I bought them because TSA can open them with a pass key if needed, and a red button lets you know if they're in your pockets. The locks are the same as described except it is not clear if you order two you will get one black and one green which was fine with me. You are both fine. The instructions were easy to follow. Just a note as I'm…

Better than the rest!

These locks are better than the locks sold in regular stores. I travel abroad a lot and want to know when security is checking my bag. These locks will give you a notification when a TSA key has been used to open the lock as the small red button at the top of the lock will be lifted. With regular TSA locks, when an agent picks the lock, they don't lock it back, and the lock either hangs on the unlocked luggage or is lost. With these locks, the TSA must lock again to get their master key out of…

The TSA 2 lock set was a great price for a 2 lock set

The TSA 2 lock set was a great price for a 2 lock set. It feels solid and it was easy to set up a personal 3 digit code. I don't usually pack anything valuable or that could be stolen in my suitcase. However, we had a laptop in one of our suitcases as we used this TSA approved lock, but the TSA at Atlantic City International Airport still broke the zipper to open and inspect the contents of our suitcase. If these locks are approved by the Transportation Security Administration, why would they…

The jury is now inside. .

Used the locks on holiday abroad in October 2017 and they worked great. No problem, used them again in October 2018 on another trip abroad and they worked great again. I used them for a third trip abroad in January 2019 and that's where the annoyance came in. On our way back I couldn't lock my only padlock. The shank didn't go into the lock so my luggage was loose. I also couldn't reset the combo when we got home. In March of this year I wrote to Kolumbo (via Revain) about a possible lock…

The lock did not work as advertised - it was opened and not relocked

I bought these Forge locks and used them in my luggage traveling to and from Italy. When I got home, I noticed that one of my suitcases no longer had a lock. When I opened this unlocked bag, I found the open lock was on top of the items in my suitcase. The shackle was open and a red indicator light came on at the top, indicating the lock had been opened without using a combination (obviously also because the numbers weren't set in the access code). There was NO key on the underside of the lock…

skip it It's a piece of junk. Both failed miserably.

05/24/18 - nonsense. A small regional airport, I still have a "working" lock. Went through TSA and as it's a small regional airport wait for them to search your bag. Sure enough, the bag is checked, they can open it and then they can't close it. Call me offline to see if I can lock it again and no. The red light popped up but can't be locked again, so 2 for 2 useless locks. Threw it straight into the trash. TSA even tried using the key to unlock it again so I could see if they would release it.

Pros
  • While I am satisfied
Cons
  • I will write later
