skip it It's a piece of junk. Both failed miserably.

05/24/18 - nonsense. A small regional airport, I still have a "working" lock. Went through TSA and as it's a small regional airport wait for them to search your bag. Sure enough, the bag is checked, they can open it and then they can't close it. Call me offline to see if I can lock it again and no. The red light popped up but can't be locked again, so 2 for 2 useless locks. Threw it straight into the trash. TSA even tried using the key to unlock it again so I could see if they would release it. You can't blame them for that. You were great. this castle? piece of trash. Update 9/2017: Broken. I've just got back from a trip and saw that my luggage on the belt goes with a tie instead of a padlock. Of course I thought the TSA, as always, broke it and cursed them. Well, I came home, cut off the clip and saw my lock with the tech inspection in my pocket. I couldn't block the lock and now it doesn't seem to be working. This time I have to file it with the TSA. If the lock had been ok they would have put it back together for sure but obviously the lock didn't work. TSA was kind enough (can't believe I'm writing this but I'll appreciate it when the time comes) to put a broken lock in my bag AND zip tie it up to help me out. I certainly thought that I would open the bag and not find the lock, but no such luck! There is no visible sign of damage to the lock, so it is obvious that the internal mechanism has not worked properly. However, the red display burst. In short, not impressed. If the lock was gone I could at least blame the TSA, but having a lock that won't lock after the TSA unlocks it is useless. After my return time, so I don't even get my money back.-- -The clasp is a little smaller than I expected. I hope they work. While many TSA folks either don't replace my locks or magically unlock them and fall off on their own, I'm not sure if this is the solution, and I don't know what it is. Just because they need to be locked before the agent can remove their key by locking it, doesn't mean it needs to be locked back in YOUR POCKET. All they have to do is literally close the lock (without re-attaching it to your bag), pull out the key and do what they do best - send your bag onto the street and exit the lock.

Pros
  • While I am satisfied
Cons
  • I will write later
